TDM Travel | Resort Collection

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I wrote a post. I'm glad to be back, today I will be talking about my resort collection. Let me just tell you all about this resort journey. I had my vision all ready color scheme, fabrics, and silhouettes. However that wasn't the case (sad face) I literally had to start from scratch because my vision and fabrics store were the complete opposite. But I didn't give up I kept going to produce a collection. Day after day I was making arrangements because shoot day was coming up. I had two photoshoots back to back so I have to definitely pull everything together. That I did, at times I felt uninspired, questioning myself, and trying to make my "creative juices" to flow.

Fast forward to the release date July 6, 2017 @ midnight. From feeling down about production, to promotion and now TDM website was live with the latest collection!

TDM collection was inspired by travel and/or traverse. Creating classic looks that can be worn from catching a flight to being fly at arrival. Using fabrications that's lightweight and airy creating a concept with fun use of hues. Traveling to places while wearing tailored trends.

I hope you all enjoy this collection!!

TDM x Kamsi Online Interview

Tatiana MyersComment

It’s been 5 months into 2017 and I have already made such amazing connections. As we all know Philadelphia is a creative hub that everyone is finally taking notice to. Full of designers, stylist, and artists, its so many great young creatives you must know about and who I am adding to the list of future collaborators. One person that I have my eye on is an up and coming designer who has a clothing brand for the girlboss in you.  Her name is Tatiana Myers and her clothing brand is TDM Clothing.

Like most things in this tech-based generation, I discovered her on social media. From the moment I saw her clothing I knew I wanted to meet up with her.  Her clothing line speaks large and in-charge and it's definitely for the power woman who can take charge in a room full of people. That's why I wanted to speak with her. I wanted to get to know the woman behind the brand. Even though this interview was conducted over email, I can surely say she speaks the same way her brand does. Now, it's time for you to get to know her!

Read the interview below and learn about Tatiana Myers from TDM Clothing.

Keyonna Butler (KB): What made you want to start your brand, TDM Clothing? Do you have a background in fashion?

Tatiana Myers (TDM): It all began when I was about 10 or 11 years old, I saw a title “fashion designer” at the moment I knew that this is what I want to do as a career. With little to none illustrations classes I discovered a talent that I didn’t know I had, sketching! I started sketching, making all types clothing dresses, skirts, jackets and more, I never knew I could sketch until I pick up a pencil, and sketch the vision in my head. Then I started taking beginner sewing classes but also I’m self taught. I graduated in 2015 with Associate’s degree in Fashion Design.

KB: I seen that you have your clothing in boutiques such as Fason De Liv, how did that come about? Do you envision having TDM Clothing in other boutiques in the city?

TDM: My partnership with Fason De Viv is something I wouldn’t know that would happen so fast. TDM in stores!!! I was so excited and it’s a pleasure being with Fason De Viv. The owner Hanifah and I actually started following each other on social media then everything happen from there. I actually had my first sip n shop at Fason De Viv and it was a success! I thank Hanifah for this amazing opportunity. Look out for A/W 16 TDM Pieces in Fason De Viv very soon. Yes, I would love to have my clothing in other boutiques.

KB: How would you describe the TDM Clothing aesthetic? How would you describe the TDM girl?

TDM: My aesthetic for TDM is modern, elegance, and chic. The TDM girl is fashion-forward, sophisticated, and confident with a hustle mentality!

KB: What inspires your design progress when creating looks for TDM Clothing?

TDM: Literally I can get inspired by anything, my design process depends if I’m doing a custom order or a collection. With a custom order I sketch multiple designs for my clients they’ll pick which one that they like the best. I’ll pick out the fabric and then the designing process starts. For a collection I start with inspiration, a theme, a color palette, sketches, a vision, and fabrications. But it’s more I make my own patterns for my garments, designing, cut and sew (production), than the finished garment.

KB: Are there any trends in the fashion industry that you incorporate into your own brand?

TDM: Not many, I don’t like to follow many trends, but I can say I like the “choker” trend. In my new collection the “Birkin” jumpsuit and “Cher” dress has the choker trend either incorporated into the design or styled with a certain look.

KB: What advice would you give to anyone starting a clothing brand? What tips would you give them to have a successful brand such as yourself at such a young age?

TDM: My advice would be to anyone that’s starting a clothing brand to be very passionate about your craft, don’t do it because everyone else wants a clothing line because that seems to be a trend. However, follow your own path and progress. Invest in yourself, keep going, be true to yourself and brand. Never give up on your talents. Even though it may be tons of competition and the struggle is real *laughs* butstruggles will turn into success as you keep working hard towards hustle to the fullest.

Valentine's Day

Tatiana MyersComment

Happy Love day everyone! On this day I release a project that I was working on just for me. I came up with this concept because I just wanted to do something for myself. Also since sewing and designing is my career than why not whipped up something just for me? Well I did just that!

The first session I created a shaved oversized fur bomber with silk lining which I paired a long sleeve v-neck crush velvet red dress. I love this look because it was fashion on the go!

The second session I decide to go with a strapless pink gown that I wore previously to a gala. Even though I wore it before why not take professional pictures in it. This session was in a studio with a #TDMCustom piece and props the photographer (Taylor Baldwin) and I made magic.

As another year comes to an end, I look back at all the people I have connected with in the creative world. It was great meeting new faces and planning collaborations with them for the new year. Photoshoot| Interview

Tatiana MyersComment

Prepping for the 7016 collection I was a bit nervous before I knew it, it was time to shoot! Running around trying to make sure all the pieces were done production. Models were in TDM and the photographer was ready.

The calm before the storm....

A good friend of mines Lindsey Weiner reached out to me to do a interview for a project for school as a broadcast journalism major she thought a interview with TDM will be perfect. I said why not? Let's collab.

As the photoshoot continued, Lindsey ask me questions during the photoshoot which I thought was very cool. Multitasking at its best. I told her stories about why I wanted to be a Fashion Designer, how TDM started, what's next for TDM and so much more. I was please to be part of Lindsey school project.

A week later I asked Ms. Weiner what did she receive on her project. With BTS 7016 photoshoot pictures, an interview, and just linking up for creating. She receive an A!!!!!

Check out TDM interview below.

"Jewelers Row" Hashtags & HighHeels

Tatiana MyersComment

As usual I seem to always redeem myself and come out winning after the October month is over. November has me feeling rich and refurbished with new concepts. Although the summer has ended I still find myself looking for summer in different things that I wardrobe. Lately I've really been flocking towards rich jeweled toned fabrics and colors. The reason behind this concept is because of the velvety warm look a jewel tone can give off.

Screen Shot 2017-10-06 at 6.02.09 PM.png

For this fall season we all recognize the velvets that are gracing the stores and also, everyone's accessories but, what I'm noticing from this trend is that many of the velvet jewel tones are pretty burnt or dark for fall. Now this makes sense based on the changing of the season and burnt oranges that come with the fall colors. So I've decided to change things up a bit. On my way into the city I decided to wear a fabulous jewel tone and what better way to stand out than to wear a more rich royal color such as violet. This jewel tone violet blouse is the "Jackie O" from the TDM collection which, I made my staple for this weeks post. What is great about this look is that it can be very versatile from sexy sophisticated down to dressy casual.

All colors can obvious go with this look being as I paired it with a textured crop stretch pant and tweed cape. The neutral colors that I paired with this look was purposeful for my blouse to stand out the most to be my staple piece. Any color in the jewel tone family would work perfect with this look such as emerald, ruby, dark blue, and burgundy which is definitely a popular color this fall. The best part about this look is that I found this perfect thrift clutch that complimented the blouse with all the colors from the embroidery. If I were you I would definitely be on the look out for velvets and jewel tones on your next browse at the mall because the #JewelTone #Velvets are here to stay. Check out the details from the look below

" Wonder Women for the Holidays" Hashtags & High Heels

Tatiana MyersComment

With the holidays comes renewal and excitement to share with family and friends. And of course what's the holiday season without a "bae" it becomes something you mentally prepare yourself for. I don't know what it is about the holiday that gets everyone so mushy, but truth be told I really do love the holiday season. I always told myself that when I have my own family that my home will house all of the holiday gatherings from apple bobbing at my annual Halloween party to having a Christmas tree lighting, I just love the holidays. It may be because I'm a Sagittarius and we naturally care about others feelings and how people are handled but, I've come to the realization to ask myself am I a holiday cheer-myster only when I'm able to share it with others? Okay when I say others I'm speaking in terms of a boyfriend, spouse, significant other. I'm coming up on my first holiday season in a while without someone to exclusively call mine. I guess I'll just be wonder women for the holidays, wear my cape and take this holiday on the chin, bae-less. When traveling recently I wore my lime lined Halsten Cape by TDM which definitely had me in girl power mode for the coming holiday. I literally couldn't take this cape off during the holidays it served as my date and true sidekick to my wonder women motives approaching.

Screen Shot 2017-10-06 at 5.53.25 PM.png

I was propelled when someone asked me that question "How do you feel about the holidays and not having a boyfriend?" I answered as if I had already started preparing my liver for the alcohol she's about to consume because of that question. But I really had to snap out of it it's almost as if everyone around me is also going through similar emotions. I honestly do believe that once your friends hang around you long enough you all start experiencing things around the same time or situations tend to domino each other.  Another conversation that I was having with my other close girlfriend which started in how I got designer shoes from Target, ended in how to ultimately heal from one relationship to another. She had been going on saying that she was in a rut over a relationship that didn't work in her favor so of course she called#TeaWithTiffany for retail therapy and to bounce back and reflect on the situation. So me being me I told her that she needs a distraction so that she doesn't have to think about why it didn't work or what it could have been, but then she stopped me and challenged that idea and asked, "What if the distraction is distracting me from healing too?" So I stopped and pondered how I never really thought about it like that.

Women tend to try and sweep a lot under the rug to please others but we never really give ourselves the time needed to cope and deal with what's happening or happened we are considered "Wonder Women" by default never giving our capes a break. This holiday season I challenge you to realize what's going on around you and grasp hold of what's happening now other than trying to be distracted from your feelings, breathe into the situation whatever it may be {finances, love life, moving, unemployment} embrace the cards that have been dealt and learn to play them rather than cheating your way through it or allowing your opponent to distract you from making your authentic best move. And Yes! This all has to happen while under the circumstances that you are in. Certain situations applies pressure which ultimately allows you to move faster out of the circumstance you’re in. A distraction will only band-Aid the hurt, guilt, and pain temporarily when really this wound needs air to potentially dry out. Yes, distractions are helpful but, are they beneficial? Are you being authentic or are you acting off emotions from previous hurts? So this holiday season I will be embracing with love and kindness and not letting what I see provoke artificial wants but embracing in a way to say to myself, I got next. But until then I know some retail therapy for my true wonder women will come about.

7016 A/W Collection

Tatiana MyersComment

7016 is an idea I had since last year, when I came across this vision I just knew I had to create! So many people asked what is 7016? 7016 is two eras combined into one to make classic, modern, upscale clothing. I was so inspired by the 70's era and by living in the 21st century it was only right to pay homage to both eras. I was definitely inspired the 70's fashion, style, and most importantly the icons. Doing research on the 70's made it my vison come to life even more! Mostly people think of the hippies when talking about the 70's. But, for this collection I was inspired but made it my own. This collection consist of belled sleeves, turtleneck (choker design), tailored wide leg trousers, and more.

7016 luxe womenswear offers high quality fabrics and design aesthetics. The hues of the collection was one of my favorites to select. I wanted my color story to have the fall aspects, but trend colors as the the climate transfer to another season.

Each product that's produce in the 7016 collection is great for layering from outerwear to cutout jumpsuits.

I hope you all enjoy this collection as much I did designing this collection!

"Falling Back with 7016" Hashtag & HighHeels

Now that New York Fashion Week has finished I found myself extremely overwhelmed soon after because Philadelphia Fashion Week was right around the corner coming full force. If you are a devoted reader of #TeaWithTiffany you'll for sure know that every year around this time I seem to "Fall Back"; literally, as if my body can't keep up with what's going on- on the outside. It's weird but none the less I'm starting to see the reoccurring behavior. I'm as excited about Fall as every fashion forward person and the newness that it brings but this year I decided to take a different approach to fashion week. Instead of me viewing millions of shows and being hopelessly in love with them, I decided to stay right here at home and get inspiration. Not saying I dislike fashion shows because I'm always down to go and view a show. But this year I decided to be the show! Yes, you heard correctly I'm finally going to campaign my own Fall looks for this coming season and I couldn't be more excited. Each week I'm going to focus on a different look with different pieces of my own wardrobe and designs from local fashion houses. It's so much talent right here in Philadelphia that I can't resist not shopping. Why fly to London when I have Harrods right in my back yard { don't get me wrong I'll still go to London } but my point is that sometimes we go looking for gold in gold mines when you could be sleeping on buried treasure at home!

So amongst my one-of-kind finds in the city I came across this very influential collection of pieces called "7016"  by TDM { Tatiana D. Myers -Designer }  this amazing collection is hand-sewn with brotherly love. I honestly couldn't wait until today because  needless to say this collection will be in my closet soon and will be a part of my looks to come. After further diving into this collection the name "7016" came from the 70s era in which designer Tatiana Myers got most of her inspiration from. This line thrives of free-spirit intentions with silhouettes bound to make someone have a flashback of their 70s crush. However, with all that summer 16' has curated in us I feel that fashion has become more innovative, classic and chic which this collection carries very well and that’s exactly how "7016" was birthed.

When you think 70s I know you think of bell bottoms, tie-dye and psychedelic vibes. But let me reprogram you all "7016" is viewed with an upscale luxe perception.  I'm such a fan of detail and hidden messages in a collection that I noticed all of the 8 pieces where named after a fashion and entertainment icons of the 70s, talk about mixing the old with the new. One thing for sure that I really love about fashion and just my own personal style is that I really enjoy feminine looking clothing. I'm not saying I don't dibble and dabble in gender bending looks but majority of my personal looks are feminine silhouettes. "7016" embodies the women and how she should look and feel especially being as these pieces are made to order. You can tell that Tatiana creates timeless edgy clothing to enhance women's silhouette but doesn't forget to make her feel chic and sexy. Go behind the threads and check out everything Involved with TDM from the woman power behind this collection where psychology and fashion collide. Minimalist Geographic Spring/Summer 2015

Minimalist Geographic Spring/Summer 2015

Minimalist Geographic is the theme for Spring/ Summer 2015. The TDM team decided to go with this because of past research, understanding structure, and color (neutrals).

Minimal :abstract art consisting primarily of simple geometric forms executed in an impersonal style. Characterized by the use of simple or primary forms especially geometric shapes.

Geometric: characterized by simple lines and shapes.

By using these two words for our theme we concluded less is more. Simplicity goes a long way, we want this collection to be timeless, make the women feel confident, and structure as it's best. Every little detail will count, don't matter if it's on the collar, sleeve, or even the shape if the garment. By having tons of inspiration we are proud to announce the collection of Spring/Summer 2015
